[ Yelena is no villain, but she isn’t sure she would call herself a hero either. Roles like ‘heroes’ belong to those figures larger than life, people like Captain America or Thor, or her sister — Natasha. She does what she must to free the rest of her sisters, and she'll be the first to admit that those methods aren't always 'heroic' either, but a) she doesn't care, and b) it's a very personal thing that she's doing anyway. Hero poses and doing good deeds for the sake of doing good deeds … well, it isn’t that she’s against it, and she’ll help a cause if she feels it is right, stop a bad man who wants to hurt others, but hero? Hm. Hero is complicated.

So she refuses to align with one side or the other, and doesn’t declare herself as a Guardian member either, but she does agree to help to … keep her options open. It is, after all, a useful thing to keep a good impression at the very least.

She finds you on the rooftop of the museum where she’s decided would be the most efficient way in, and nods her acknowledgement of you. There’s a skylight that allows direct access into the gallery space where she can already see a couple of sticky-fingered thieves scooping small relics into their bags. ]

Okay. [ She tips her chin, waving a hand. Her English is heavily accented. ] You first, hm?

[ Sometimes you just want to casually explore a new city on your own because everything is still new, and you’re slowly building up the intel on this place that might come in handy for the day you finally figure out how to get home, you know? Sometimes this includes a coffee or a doughnut, or a coffee and a doughnut, and sometimes it even involves a shopping trip with that unlimited balance credit-card you’ve been gifted. She needs new clothes anyway; and one thing she very much enjoys about no longer being under the influence of a mind-controlling drug, or having her entire autonomy taken away is her ability to choose what she wants to wear, and everyone else be damned.

What Yelena doesn’t appreciate is being interrupted by a very angry, yelling dinosaur with human arms waving a ray-gun around and scaring civilians. Actually, she very much hates it. It’s a bit unoriginal, and she had plans and now she thinks she should probably do the right thing, because it’s what Natasha would do. (She’s been thinking a lot lately about what Natasha might do, and Yelena wants to do right by her sister.)

So, she gets herself involved.

i) At one point, she will think she’s got the upper-hand on the newly-transformed dinohumans before they knock her down to the hard asphalt by sheer strength alone, winding her briefly. She could probably use a heroic hand.

ii) Later, having gotten the hang of the way these creatures are moving, she’ll have done her part to incapacitate a small cluster of the more angry ones. She’s about to charge for the ringleader of this eventful afternoon, making her way towards Dino Dan, before — POP! ]

Wait — what just happened? [ She turns to see you standing not so far from where she is, surrounded by jungle and a building. She isn’t sure which one of these things is ‘out of place’, but it’s suddenly a whole lot more quiet. ] Where the hell is this?

note: i'm playing around with a couple different canon-points on this test drive, which means slightly altered perspectives in yelena's head.
