If Tim weren't looking at the birds apprehensively, he might have partly unzipped the cover so the chicks could try to get up to the edge of the pen like they'd been starting to do. They were mostly up to barely fluttering hops, but they at least hadn't hit the half-feathered mop stage as the adult feathers started to come in.
"Spending too much time in Central City is depressing. Sunset Falls is all magical disasters, and, well, I guess I could have gone to Excelsior, but this feels...nice. I can just take things at the speed they come for a change," he tries to explain.
