Character Name & Journal: Ripley Arkwright | exasperation Guild Affiliation: Unaffiliated (for now) Plot/CR Hooks: - He's definitely opting out of the Expo, so anyone wants plans where they hang out and side-eye the whole thing would be great! - He'll be trying out the VR simulation though! It might be nice to play a hero without all of his baggage attached. Plus, it could give him a good view of how things operate in this new found Earth.
Character Motivations: Ripley wants to live life unassuming and quiet as possible. He never wants to attract any kind of attention, good or bad. He wants to be inconspicuous and unknown. A lot of that stems from his trauma with his friend-turned violent superhero and uprooting his family to protect them and ending up with no savings and no real security. He'll probably go back to be a low-level minion, so if there are any villain or antagonist characters who'd like to recruit him, he's great!
Deep down, I think a part of him would like to be more . . . confident. Less timid, less afraid and less cowardly. But he's spent so much time developing this as his defense mechanism that he doesn't really know how.
Potential Roles: As I said, Ripley is a minion! He usually works for supervillains but I'm fine with like ambiguous heroes/villains toeing the line. His power is glorified UPS guy. He can transport anything/anyone to any location in the world and he has the complete accuracy of Google Maps to pinpoint anything (even their five star ratings!).
Barring that, Ripley's more of a reclusive guy who devotes a lot of his interests to things he can stream. He wants too much tv and movies and can probably quote and talk about it for ages. He's also a lot more generous than he lets on, so if everyone was having a problem, Ripley would drop everything to help (and he's super gullible).
Plot Ideas: Throwing him into unusual or chaotic situations that would probably stress him out (fight or flight), but also build up his ability to make crunch decisions. Make friends with similar interests. I don't know, people who want to bully him??? Do you need a stooge. Roles Needed: All! I'm down for friends, enemies??? romance, platonic stuff, etc, it's all good.
