Damien has probably never meant anything more than those words. "Yeah... that's the fucked up part." He'd finally found someone that, probably, in another life, with a different set of circumstances, in some alternate reality where Damien had just done what he'd promised and not gone off the rails to break everything in his path... they really could have been... something.

But true to who he's always been, Damien left nothing but wreckage in his wake.
