Why he is doing this? Because it's something he needs too. Because it's something he understands. Because it's something that Mark hopes will help Damien start healing, or continue healing. But he's crying too. There's no way that empathy would let him feel grief and pain this deep and not react. So he holds on tigther and lets the man cry and cries against him too.
