It takes him a few minutes before he finally moves again, scrubbing a hand over his face as he pushes up to his feet. He grabs a fresh set of clothes and heads to take a shower.

“Fuck,” he mutters, leaning against the door once he’s in the bathroom. This is not how he expected the day to go. So much for not being overwhelmed by this empathy bullshit.

There’s no denying that the shower definitely helped, he looks considerably more relaxed as he steps back into the room, pajama pants slung low on his hips, white t-shirt looser than it should be.
