The strangely dressed human was almost certainly one of the newcomers. Sleeper was certain of that from the time they'd seen him try to leave the credit card behind as if it were more conventional money. And gawking at televisions pretty much clinched it.

"The problem is that you get one and then there's almost never anything worth watching," they say from near the guy's ankles. Yeah, they're a cat. Well, by some definitions of cat, but they choose to think of themself like that, and when you're sentient, protean ooze, that does mean something.
