1. The More Things Change (Arrival/Forerunner)
This is not the first time Huvrye has found himself falling from the sky. He startles for a moment, but instincts kick in in the next moment and his wings snap out to catch him, only to get ensnared in ribbons-
And then everything gets so much worse.
He listens, and doesn't bother to keep his expression neutral - not when this Forerunner person acts and sounds so much like Effiom. The sneer drops when the portals open and twisted creatures pour into the city around him. This Forerunner person isn't like Effiom; they're the Controller, and these creatures around him may as well be Corrupted-
Well, at least there's one thing here he knows how to handle.
If you're out fighting abominids and automata, you may see him tearing through them with inhuman strength, the concentric circles and sharp lines of alchemy glowing red over his hands, up his arms, and across his face. The sheer efficacy and power behind the violence is unsettling, but once the current foe is downed, he'll look at you and recognize - well, not an ally, everyone here is a stranger, but at least not an enemy. "Are you okay?"
Or maybe you've found him in a lull in the fighting, in a doorway or a corner, taking as much of a breather as he can while still on high alert. Whatever city this is, it's an active combat zone, and he's not about to get caught out if he can help it - that's how people get corrupted or killed. Though if the blood staining his shirt is any indication, he's already been injured, and pretty badly. (That wound healed hours ago, but clean shirts are for people with both a place to go and time to breathe, and he barely has one of those right now.)
2. Have you seen the well-to-do up and down Park Avenue (Diadem Hotel)
This is weird.
He's seen fancy places like this before - every time he's called to upper Lashardi to see Effiom, he sees this sort of opulence. It's exclusively for the political elite and wealthy civs. But after the portals closed and the damage was cleaned up, he'd been brought to this ridiculously fancy hotel, given a room and a credit card, been told it was thanks for his help in the earlier crisis, and been left to his own devices.
His own devices, as it turns out, are not equipped for this.
So for the moment he's sitting in one of the comfy chairs in the lounge, wearing his pants and shoes, and the hotel bathrobe. His shirt had been covered in blood and, more importantly, corruption, and wearing it around people was the worst kind of health hazard when they'd just dealt with an attack. That said, his room hadn't come with a fresh shirt, so here he is, wearing what was provided, with absolutely no idea what to do next. Eventually they're going to realize he's not wealthy, or a civ. Eventually they're going to throw him out of here.
(Whoever 'they' are. Wherever 'here' is.)
But for now, he's in an armchair in public, still on high alert, with all the energy of a kid who's snuck into someplace they're not supposed to be and is just waiting to be kicked out.

It turns out a 'Food Court' is not the same as a mess hall. Food courts - at least, this one - are bigger than the mess hall, and have a lot more choices, namely in that said choices consist of multiple eateries instead of just 'take it or leave it.'
Huvrye's not so much spoiled for choice as he is paralyzed by it. Hopefully someone who's a little more familiar with the matter at hand can help him out. "What's a Taco Bell?"
(He has, at least, gotten himself a clean shirt by this point in time. Small favors.)
