It's strange. When he was a Robin, he largely admired the Supers. Then after being murdered, resurrected and choosing to be a much more violent vigilante, he figured any further meetings he might have with a Kryptonian would not be during the best circumstances. Superman certainly wouldn't agree with what he does now.

But now here he was fighting alongside someone apparently connected to Supergirl and could somewhat potentially get along with. Funny how the multiverse works.
