[ he lets robin--tim--approach him in his own time, waiting with a patience borne of years spent held captive with no real outside stimulation. he can wait as long as he needs to.. but thankfully, tim's ready in a few minutes.

he smiles again as the masked figure hops up onto the roof with him, a little bashful in spite of himself. ] Sorry about earlier. You seemed a little freaked out, and I wasn't sure of the best way to reassure you. [ he's not sure what it had been about exactly, but introducing himself seemed to be the right call, anyway. and a quiet invitation to a rooftop had seemed.. polite, given everything jon knows about bats, and tim in particular. robin could decide to show up or not, it was in his control.

he crosses his ankles, swinging them a little and patting the edge of the roof in invitation. they're not close the way jon's close with a couple of tim's brothers, but he knows tim knows and cares about his brother a lot, so that's enough to want to befriend him properly. ]
