[Thad nods.

It was hard to know where to even start with something like this. It felt like being thrown into the deep end when he barely knew how to do anything other than sink like a rock. Add to that the looming knowledge that he would likely forget everything he did here anyway, he wasn't even sure if the effort was necessarily worth it.

But then, what else was he going to do? Plan just enough to survive and sulk about it till he was sent home?

Maybe Bart did have something of a point; if this was going to be his one chance at a life of his own, he should take advantage of it. Even if he wouldn't remember it when he went home. Maybe especially if he wouldn't.

And wouldn't that just stick it to his "father"? His attack dog gets off his leash and instead of going after his target, he "selfishly" carves a life for himself.

Even if he couldn't get to the man, he could at least do that much.

And maybe that's where he could start...

I have an odd question.

If you had a father that was...[He tries to come up with a word that would be relatable to another person, but not alarming.] controlling, and you were finally able to do something for yourself that would make him mad if he found out, but would also make you happy, what kind of thing would you do?
