1. With a cult/multiple cults? Being a Thing in Sunset Falls, does the Battlement of the Shining God have a strong presence/foothold in the city? Is this the main cult presence in AU-Verse SF, or are the Battlement horning in on the turf of other, homegrown cults?
For her AU, given that she's a local, more entrenched in the culture and moving up bureaucratically, I wanted Mayuko to be a (homegrown) cultist (high and experienced enough to feasibly gain more support for her mayoral bid and be authorized to "negotiate" with a mob boss. Low enough that it would not be a GIGANTIC loss if she got offed by said mobster, just mildly disappointing.)
TL;DR I just want to check whether that means she's in the Battlement automatically, serving (more of) an antag role, which I am down for! Or, my preference, she's in a local cult and butting heads against the Battlement's influence.
2. I am wanting Mayuko's houseghosts to be folded into her AU Area of Effect. However, I have been fiddling with the idea that Sable (aka the big shadowy creature that's been seen in Mayu's broadcasts) is NOT in fact a humanoid ghost at all. They (singular) are one of the many different kinds of creatures/cryptids that are the reasons why people don't go out after sunset. They "live" in the spooky occult-ready Victorian basement and are therefore bound to not harm Mayu (or Jun) through Alliance redtape. Sable can leave the premises without having to hitch a ride on something from the house (although they still CAN to keep up appearances that they're a ghost).
How Sable will view the event is very up in the air. But just wanted to clear that Sable could independently want to help or hinder the interlopers/rescuers through leading them on a wild goose chase a la Wicker Man, hiding or showing memory-jogging things, bringing Jun to a location/keeping Jun from been taken as bait (THIS IS THE ONLY OUTRIGHT BAD END SCENARIO if characters try to snatch the puppy without Sable being onboard first). Maybe amplify Mayuko's energy-based powers a tiny bit more as a sign of her increased connection to SF, which will be negated at event end? They can be violent, but except for the scenario above will not be going for a kill OR luring people to the basement where they are the strongest.

Thank you for any insight!
