JULY EVENT PLOTTING
EVENT WORKSHOP
We're still working out the kinks on how we're wanting to handle plotting memes going forward - especially for such a player and mod involved plot - so please excuse any messes! We're going to have three mod comments down below:
The first, MOD QUESTIONS / SETTING IMPACT, is a space for players to ask clarifying questions about the current event or any questions related to player plots and their ability to impact the setting of Metaheroes. We will be, as usual, providing quicker responses on memes to help get things moving along. We’ve condensed two headers into one here because of the nature of the event, ensuring that everyone can discuss as needed. We do encourage that everyone discuss any plot ideas in the rest of the post to get the ball rolling.
The second, EVENT SIGN-UPS, are going to be for a boss battle that players will have the option of letting their characters participate in. We'll be RNGing for a few characters to have the chance to get in the final strike, and those characters will also have the opportunity to decide how they choose to deliver the final strike - whether it be death, capture, or whatever else those characters (and their players) choose to do. This will be a group effort, consisting of three players, and we'll need to know your choice of how to handle it (and we will include log spoilers in our DM to these players) before the final log goes live. We'll RNG on Sunday, send the DM, and get the log up on Wednesday. If we keep the current schedule, the DM will go out on July 16th and we'll need an answer before 5PM EST on July 18th. If the final log is delayed a week, the DM will go out on July 20th, and an answer will be needed before 5PM EST on July 25th. Please keep that in mind when signing up!
This was a bit of a last minute decision on our part, thus the low amount of time to get an answer in.
The third is detailed below.
We know we still have a few player plots that are pending that are very involved in this plot, and we know that some of them are still works in progress! To that extent, we want to ask you, the players: would you like us to delay the next event log to allow you time to complete current plots? We would be happy to delay it so we can work in player actions into the next log, though we're well aware that this plot has run a little long compared to past Meta events. If delayed, we'll be doing our best to wrap up plots before July 26th, which would be the new date for the log. Please let us know HERE.
These player plots may heavily impact the direction of the event, pending how we wrap them up. If the log isn't delayed, we'll find a way to work with the information that is currently out. If we delay the log, we'll be able to work them in more concisely.
Between the Fixer getting caught, and the jailbreak, things really have not been going in Fantastic's favor. Barely anyone wants to live in Arcadia, and the whole point of them putting together Arcadia was to get the Starfallen to move in! It's getting harder to keep things under control for him, especially with all the negative press he's been getting lately. Things are starting to take a turn for the worse, and it's becoming quite clear to everyone: Fantastic doesn't know what he's doing, and his losing control of the situation is starting to really, really make him mad.
➢ Fantastic will be issuing a live statement from Excelsior in regards to the current situation in Arcadia. He will not be happy, and this will be quite clear to everyone watching it.
➢ Shortly after the broadcast begins, it will be interrupted - by The Shining God Herself. She will be equally not happy - but not for the same reasons that Fantastic is. The Shining God believes in order, believes that the world should not diverge from the path that she has chosen, and the Starfallen? Are causing her plan to fall apart.
➢ This will cause The Shining God to display her displeasure at the Starfallen themselves. How this goes is up to the players! We want to know what you want to do in order to make this event fun for you, and how you would like to conclude this part of the game's arc. We'll be checking through plotting comments and seeing what we can do to build this finale in a way that will help you get what you want for your characters.
➢ The chaos that ensues in the aftermath will require multiple PCs to come in and lend a hand. Excelsior will become a mess, attacked on multiple sides, and both the Alliance and Society metahumans will be called in to try and keep it contained.
