FEBRUARY PLOTTING MEME
EVENT WORKSHOP & PLOTTING MEME
During the meteor showers of January, those who reside within the walls of Atlantis made themselves known. A few were infected with the need to cause turmoil among their ranks - but many had come intending to help fight against the trouble that was infecting the Earth. Atlanteans are generally of the same build as humans, however, in place of their ears are fins and fine scales cover their bodies. Some are notably less humanoid and more aquatic, as a range of sea peoples call themselves "Atlantean". The Artic settlement, whom the Starfallen saved some time ago, speak highly of the surface world and are eager to return the favor.
Now, Apseudes, the youngest Princess of Atlantis, comes to the Alliance asking for an audience with Atomight. Those who spend a fair amount of time in Central City, and members of the Alliance, may catch sight of the royal entourage that takes over pathways leading from Lake Huron to Central City proper on February 14th.
The event is everywhere on Social Media. While some have been aware of Atlantis for a while, seeing a princess of Atlantis wandering the streets of Michigan is… odd. While Apseudes will visit and return to the sea without much incident, it's what happens after that's cause for concern: the Alliance and Society announce to their members that there is an unavoidable war breaking out with those that call the oceans home that will be spilling over to those on land.
Apseudes's older brother, Nemretes, is determined to steal the shards that have landed throughout the Earth and take the power for himself. He has gained a significant amount of followers for his cause and has full intentions of following through - to the extent he has built several military bases in secret off the coasts of the Americas, just waiting for the right moment to pull the trigger and send his soldiers to the surface. Why? Because the surface dwellers have been causing nothing but trouble for the last several years, which in turn has affected the state of Atlantis. After what happened in January, they have decided they're done tolerating it. Apseudes has come to offer a warning and a peace offering: if the Alliance can aid her in taking down her brother and his army without killing him, she will sign a peace treaty swearing allegiance to surface dwellers, given a few conditions.
The war is coming, it is inevitable. But how it turns out is wholly up to you, the players.

➢ Apseudes can be interacted with. Players can pose their questions to her here. She holds the Starfallen in high regard as they saved the Artic city almost two years ago. She hails from the secretive capital, hidden somewhere within the deepest depths of the ocean. Apseudes is very invested in cultivating a good relationship with the surface... her brother is not.
➢ During this event, characters will experience political intrigue, have opportunities to spy on opposing forces, and navigate natural disasters (tsunamis, floods), war, and - have their first brush with what it means to die as a Starfallen. Two characters are dying in this event... and one of them will end up being a bigger threat than the sea god himself.
➢ Rain will begin to pour on February 14, 2024. The torrential downpour will continue until February 18, 2024 - when the world is wet enough for Nemretes and his amphibious allies to take to the shores.
➢ Nemretes will be attacking the coast. While many of his forces are Atlantean, he commands several powerful sea monsters and has even allied with some entities who make their homes in rivers. Kelpies are reported to be pretending to be animals in distress, and enormous sea serpents are swallowing ships whole. A water elemental is doing its damnedest to flood the entirety of Central City. These creatures are equipped with both technical and magical weaponry and will maul any surface-dwellers on sight.
➢ Player characters can sign up to fight Nemretes. All players who sign up for the fight are considered to be part of it, and we strongly encourage you all to communicate and strategize. Let us know how your character intends to help out, and we will let you know the results.

One to request team assignments for characters heading out to assist in the war efforts. These are optional! Teams will be assigned based on character skills, not guilds, so anyone is welcome to sign up.
