I think I'm leaning toward the fireworks, especially with my update, because Balthier will be more prey to "hey maybe I didn't forsake my soulmate and won't be miserable forever" thoughts, and I like insulting i mean supporting fashion differences. Fashion is also one of the places he's taking reprieve so I like making that a tension point.

And yeesssss. I RPed him from this canon point last time and loved it. I wanted to play with what if he didn't get the closure with dad, but I actually think I find the loss and realization that dad was ALWAYS shitty a lot more heartbreaking/engaging, and I really like him grappling with like oh shit I didn't hate leadership/power I just hated....having to navigate it under my abusive dad. So I'm excited to dig into that again. I just love him so much and I'm glad someone else does too :3 (I wasn't in RP community when the games came out so I'm delighted there's still some people who enjoy him with me).
