PLOT WORKSHOP
GUIDELINES
In lieu of a CR meme, Meta Heroes will be holding bi-monthly plot workshops. These memes are designed to help players brainstorm, develop, and shape their character arcs and personal plots into something that engages them. (If players feel that this meme is not serving the function of a traditional CR meme and would like to see the inclusion of a more traditional CR meme in the future, please reach out to us!)
Players with player plot and character arc ideas — no matter how pie in the sky or early in development — should post top levels to this entry using the form below. These posts will include character hooks and motivations, general plot ideas, and potential roles in others' plots.
Your ideas can be as specific or as general as you want — e.g., "I want my character to start pursuing politics" or "I want to run a plot where Spider-Man takes down a serial bank robber who's funding meta-drug experiments on children." This is not the place to censor yourself! Put it all out there!
What we do want to impress is more specific posts will make plotting smoother. Try to avoid 'down for anything' posts and comments — if you do not feel you have specific ideas to throw out, we encourage you to simply tag around and collaborate with others. This meme can't succeed without both posts and replies!
In addition to player replies, the mods will have two top levels.
The first, MOD QUESTIONS, is a space for players to ask clarifying questions about things like player plot tier of certain ideas and the ability to impact aspects of the setting or world in substantial ways, or event related questions and sign-ups. We can provide quicker approvals on these memes to help get things rolling to a player plot submission.
The second, SETTING IMPACT, is a space for players to pitch larger-scale plots (including those that they may not want to run themselves, or that they don't have a character who can spearhead). This section is for players to brainstorm and collaborate on big ways to engage and alter the setting. We encourage players to think creatively! We will also offer our two cents where possible, but if you feel something needs our attention, feel free to drop a direct link to the comment in the 'mod questions' header too.

EVENT PREVIEW
To facilitate your plotting for the coming month, here's a quick preview of the April event! The Alliance Expo will take place in Central City. Your opt-out option is to not attend the Expo.
The Alliance Expo is an annual event held by the Guardian Alliance in Central City. More than simply celebrating superheroism, it celebrates metahuman ability and ingenuity and is open to everyone, regardless of affilation. This is where new members of the Guardian Alliance and The Society may have their first true public debut. Likewise, Unaffiliated metas are encouraged to subtly mingle with each other.
As this is open to the non-meta public, there's a fairly sizable vendors hall. Player characters can find knock-off merchandise of themselves being sold. Along with other gadgets and trinkets that make heroism worth it.
There is also an annual tradition in which the members of the guild participate in a loosely scripted wrestling match in which the newest members of both organizations can show off their powers and get to know their potential opponents. Players are free to come up with their own scripts - from the extremely over the top, to the grim, dark and scary. It’s all in good fun and not a requirement, and is meant to show that even divided there is unity between the metahuman community.
The Society be rolling out new branding - they’re dropping of Villainous Reformation from their name.
This year's event is centered around the history of the Godfall Event, the nearest the world ever got to an apocalypse, albeit this is a heavily sanitized and commercialized version. This event occurred on April 3rd, 1985. Players can get a glimpse into the event that made this world and founded these guild systems. There is a VR simulation where anyone can step into the shoes of the hundreds of metahumans present that day... just don't look up how many of them are still around.
The event will culminate in a VR simulation being hijacked by extremists. Any characters within the VR room will find the simulation losing its fun edge and becomes a true recreation of that day. The world is about to end and it's up to you to stop it at all costs. Player characters may find themselves being influenced by the AI of the role they're inhabiting. The feelings of these AI recreations will layer over the character's own emotions and may feel sudden bonds with other player characters who are inhabiting the role of someone their avatar knows - friends, family, lovers, nemeses. Others may find themselves being at the epicenter of the blast, taking the role of Starstruck himself - suddenly against their friends and family and unable to stop.
Players are completely free to make up their own heroes for this event. If you would like something mod generated, please comment here.
Players may also sign up for the chance to take on the role of any of the existing guild leaders - Frances Startling, Atomight, and Mechanima - and get a glimpse into what they were doing that day and how it shaped their worldview.

michele | amadeus cho
Preferred Communication:
Character Name & Journal: amadeus cho/hulk
Guild Affiliation: unaffiliated
Plot/CR Hooks:
amadeus is focusing on helping the people who might not get the attention of the guilds because their concerns are smaller or they're considered less important. he'll be working under the table mostly on a barter like system and to get established as a local support.
he'll also do some lowkey shitstirring because he doesn't like the idea of these overarching guilds running everything. nothing major to actually go against them, but encouraging dissent and so on.
Character Motivations:
he has no major goals as he's in the mindset that this is just a fun distraction so i'd want him to take this a bit more seriously too.
i took him from a canon point where he's starting to feel a bit lost and isolated and while he does reach out to his friends and family in canon, he's not able to do that here so wanting to see how he'd deal instead.
a long term goal for him is also to unpack what being a hulk means. he currently considers his weakness not to be anger, but pride and he'd need to reorient what he knows to deal with it.
Potential Roles:
amadeus as the hulk means he's one of the stronger characters from marvel, he hasn't reached nearly the same heights as bruce did, but the potential is there. in addition, just like bruce he's also on the genius end of the superhero spectrum (ranked 8th). this means he can play the brain and the brawn.
and while he's very firmly on the side of good, it's to what he considers to be good and not necessarily what is lawful. he's very willing to break the law for the greater good.
Plot Ideas:
smaller, localised events over anything big. while he's perfectly capable of getting caught up in the bigger stuff since i'm wanting him to build him up as a hero for the people i want to look at the smaller stuff first.
Roles Needed:
older characters that wouldn't mind mentoring, other fellow teens to try figure things out with, people to butt heads with
Chris | Angela + Harry Osborn
Preferred Communication:
Angela | Marvel-616 (CRAU)
Harry Osborn | The Amazing-Spider-Man
gale | yusei fudo
Preferred Communication:
Character Name & Journal: Yusei Fudo |
Guild Affiliation: unaffiliated, leaning towards Society
Plot/CR Hooks: Yusei gets extremely invested if he can identify with someone emotionally, particularly if they have a strong purpose and drive. You talked once and he agrees with you, helped you out, or the whole thing was generally positive or even just neutral?
He's that soft.
Thanks to his new powers, he also hasn't slept a wink since he's gotten here! Which, okay! He's fine physically, but mentally not so much! He is probably going to be a lot more prone to bad decisions! Is your character making bad decisions? He probably wants in! He may or may not join the wrassling matches despite not having any actual strength-enhancing powers! maybe he just wants to punch a dude with no legal consequences! he's very tired and very stressed, okay
Character Motivations: Originally, Yusei really wanted to find a way back home. But after finding out that his blood has veen replaced with Momentum, he really wants to understand more about it, why this was done to him, and maybe figure out some ideas regarding its destructive legacy to take back home. Maybe this is a chance for him to seek redemption for the sins of his forefathers, or something.
The real problem is getting him to open up about all this, admittedly.
Potential Roles: Yusei is very much a support dude at heart. Can he punch a dude? Yes! Will he punch a dude? Also yes! But honestly he is much, much more inclined to run logistics in the background, whether it is trying to run cybercrime shenanigans, building sweet vehicles, or even driving the damn car/motorcycle himself if he must.
Plot Ideas: plots about finding one's place in this crazy world and/or plots with people taking advantage of him. whether its his willingness to give and give and give without asking for anything in return or the actual limitless energy juice running in his veins, he has lots of avenues for this.
Roles Needed: fellow tech bros, unite! he'd love to open a garage with somebody. or by himself but for somebody. whichever. whatever.
trace | clint barton
Preferred Communication:
Character Name & Journal: clint barton |
Guild Affiliation: n/a as of now, he's still pretty new
Plot/CR Hooks: clint's old, he's tired and he would really like to just rest but life isn't going to let him. which basically means, he'll be doing his best not to get too involved and fail because that's just what happens.
there's also the fact that a lot of people will recognize him since he's been around and while he's fine with that, the attention does make him a little uncomfortable but he tries to deal with it the best he knows how in that he dismisses it or he's self deprecating about it.
Character Motivations: above all, he does want to go home because he has a family there but while he's here, he'll want to make sure the younger kids know what they're doing and he's willing to be a grouchy mentor for those that might want it.
he'l also be quietly pleased to reunite with some old friends here.
Potential Roles: clint's not a superpowered human at all but he's unafraid to put himself in front of a superhero and do what needs to be done. he's a former spy, assassin and an asset since most people might overlook him because he's just a guy with a bow.
Plot Ideas: not really sure just yet. he's coming from post endgame and that's really shaken him up so he'll be looking to try and settle himself after that and to maybe look into changing those events? he won't be able to but he'll want to.
Roles Needed: really, anyone. people he knows, people who know him, younger superheroes who need some guidance, people he can grump at, the works.

Lu | Otto Octavius
Preferred Communication:
Character Name & Journal: Otto Octavius
Guild Affiliation: Unaffiliated, but leaning Guild
Plot/CR Hooks:
- Will be attending the Expo largely as an attempt to learn more about this world's history and culture, did not realize until arriving that it was just some kind of incredibly distasteful capitalist spectacle. Will mostly be hanging around being Not About This, but will probably also get involved in efforts to shut down the VR since he absolutely won't be trying it out himself and thus will not be getting stuck.
- Currently in the process of moving to Excelsior and getting a job. I have no fucking idea what the job will be yet, but we’re sure headed in that direction. Anyone doing neat tech stuff there?
- Is just visibly Known Problem Scientist Doc Ock at a large public function?
Character Motivations:
- Right now, his focus is on working to find a cure for Harry Osborn. He needs a thing to focus on because otherwise his trauma will consume him and he will perish! As such, might accept other projects.
- He's naturally a pretty chill and genial guy, but he's also actively working to distance himself from Notorious Supervillain Doc Ock right now, so if you need a hand with something then holy shit he's got so many of them. He's aware of 616 and will certainly give people from there a wide berth, though! If he knows who they are. Which in large part he does not.
- Joining the Guild for the practical benefits - helping Harry and Norman outweighs his pride - but his heart is more with the unaffiliated. Tell us more about living like a goddamn normal person again.
- Is just on the fucking edge right now, needs therapy so bad
Potential Roles: Traditionally an antagonist, but very much looking to retire to a more supportive role. Science/tech genius support, general reasonable adult figure, that kind of thing. Will accept any shit that comes his way for being Doc Ock, is more protective of Norman.
Plot Ideas: Honestly in more of a chill phase right now - Otto's still trying to rebuild himself to something approaching normal after everything that happened, and actively doesn't want to get involved in too much superhero bullshit right now. It’s pretty easy to get him involved, though.
Roles Needed: Honestly just any connections to drag him back into living a life rn

Churby | David "Prodigy" Alleyne (Marvel-616)
Preferred Communication:
Character Name & Journal: David "Prodigy" Alleyne
Guild Affiliation: Guardian Alliance
Plot/CR Hooks: The stuff below are all general. Specific event stuff will be with the plot ideas.
-David's a genius, a technopath, and psychometric. In the long run that means if you're aware of any of these things, or can get pointed at him through guild or other underground contacts, David can serve as a consult on a lot of functions. Need into a computer system you're not going to get past on your own and you know there isn't a technopath or AI guarding it? Come up with a good enough reason and David will help get you in. Need to know the history of an object to confirm if it was involved in a theft/dastardly plan/world ending ritual, talk to David (and help him with the pain that comes after if it's magical).
-While David's with the Alliance, he also is pretty chill about crimes that affect major companies or places that are insured, provided no one is hurt. But if your crimes (or heroics) are likely to hurt innocents (especially in Excelsior) and you want/need a foil (or someone to help stop baddies that are doing this), look to David, he can hinder, or help.
Character Motivations: David wants to stay here and build a life. At the same time, he's quietly researching a few things in the background.
Short Term
-Making Power Suppression Devices for those unaffiliated metas who might want/need them (since they don't have guild support)
-Identifying/Helping Metas with disabilities/need assistive devices
-Someone to get him to have more silly fun. David goes mad without silly chaos things, and he needs people willing to drag him out into that (especially with him on the outs with his best friend)
Long Term
-Finding a way to send Metas who want it home.
-Establishing his own home/life here.
-Rivalry. David needs someone (or someones) to help drive him. These can be allies, rivalries in his own fields of specialty of tech, or someone truly trying to fight him. He needs it for growth.
-Someone to help push him deeper into guild politics (and perhaps a personal conflict with Winters because fun)
Potential Roles:
David's a bit of a tech whiz and genius. Because of his psychomimetric abilities, he has spent a lot of his time growing up absorbing knowledge, so he often serves as an expert in different areas of science/knowledge. He also tends to get a bit superior. If people don't mind potentially developing a lasting slightly negative CR, and you need that friend that is going to get all 'I told you not to do that' sometimes, then David's a good friend to meet. What he isn't, though, is a leader. He prefers a support role, serving as a second to someone truly in charge. He hasn't gotten involved deeply in guild concerns yet, but when he does he's going to have a role of the voice of opposition, sometimes talking about how whether what a villain is doing is really right or wrong and how mandating rules to
Plot Ideas: Okay, onto Event Ideas!
-Booth Time! David will be attending the convention as a representative of Adaptech, an Excelsior company specializing in prosthetics and assistive technology. As one of the newer employees (and better at being social than many of his coworkers), he's been sent to pitch their work and do displays of enhanced prosthetics and voice-response tech they've been working on. Could be a good place to come if your character needs adaptive assistance (or just help using their cell phone or other tech). Also who doesn't want to shake hands with a robotic arm? Or lose to it in an arm wrestling match?
-VR Experience! You'd think a technopath would be immune to being overtaken in the sim. You're VERY WRONG. David's going to be more vulnerable, perhaps even the first caught up in it. I'm thinking I want him to be someone with lots of emotional/interpersonal connections, so he can bounce off of just about anyone. Former lovers or best friends, rivals and enemies, it's all good. I will take any tags for this people want, including with new CR. David will be randomized into the role of a super villain named Thunderclap who was not seen again after that day, either dead or retired. He was known to be a villain who wanted to take over the world as he thought it was destroying itself and he was the only one who could save it, by ruling it. A very 'ends justify the means' sort of guy. Once he was a hero who believed that good will and understanding and patience could fix things, but over time and watching villains come back over and over again he took on a bleaker outlook and started to believe his rule was the only answer. HIs powers may also have driven him a TOUCH mad. I want deep, emotionally intense situations, hatred or love or concern, and I want to enjoy the awkwardness that might come from those first encounters later, or from how it might make him and established CR just feel nervous. The role was probably one where he decided the 'best' way to handle things was just to kill Starstruck, period. Even fighting people he cares about to achieve this, because it's hard to take over the world for it's own sake when it's destroyed.
Roles Needed:
-Booth Roles Needed: Just about anyone is good for this. People who want to test their strength against a robotic arm, people who want a quick look over of their prosthetics or other onboard tech, or people that just want to talk to the clearly social guy behind the booth table that might look slightly bored. Just a good general way to meet him or remeet David if you know him.
-VR Experience Roles Needed: Literally anyone. This one I'd prefer to talk to someone about before tagging in to their stuff, or being tagged to. I want a rough idea of what these made up past heroes had as an awareness or connection to each other. Would they try and talk his character down? Would they try and stop him with force? Are they trying to help his villain stop the end of the world? Are they compromising their own morals to help him? Do they kiss? Have they kissed before? This is all good. But since David's going to be fully taken over, he's going to believe all of it 100% right from the word go and so this can lead to some fun/awkward stuff before other people start to fall under the sway of the corrupted program. David will be in the role of Thunderclap, a former hero turned 'pragmatic' villain who came to believe the only way to save the world was to unite it under his rule. He was in the game for a while and had a lot of previous relationships with people, and when he 'switched sides' it would have been a matter of public controversy in its own way.

Lyn | MCU Peter Parker
Preferred Communication:
Character Name & Journal: Peter Parker (MCU version),
Guild Affiliation: None whoops
Plot/CR Hooks: For regular life stuff, I'll put this in the rumour mill next month, but Peter doesn't actually have a steady place to live because he didn't join a guild and being an adult is hard okay! He stayed with Balthier for a couple weeks and with Bart for a little but, but he's really not cut out for farm living so he'll go back to the city.
My creative juice SUCKS right now so I don't have a lot of big plot ideas. I'd eventually like Peter's technopathy to get into trouble and I'm thinking about doing something with that but definitely not this month so…putting a pin in this for later.
Character Motivations: Peter wants to have friends but he's also terrified of them getting hurt because of him, and being in a place full of metas hasn't erased that.
Peter longs to help people! He really does, he's a Boy Scout at heart ok. He wants to do whatever he can to make other people's lives better (often at his own detriment). He has some trust issues but he tends to want to think the best of people. He has massive amounts of trauma from the past couple years, largely because people he loves have died or disappeared, and I do like him talking about these things to others, so if that's ya jam, lmk.
Potential Roles: What role does your character play in their canon plot? What role might they play in others' plots, and what would it take to get their attention? Are they an antagonist, a researcher, a tech whiz?
Plot Ideas: For the event, I really want Peter to go into the VR thing. I'm going to enter him to take one of the heroes' place but also…I'm interested in him seeing the STARSTRUCK angle because I'm terrible. If anyone wants to do a VR/AI thing, let me know, I am up for this in all ways! The VR stuff is probably most of what I'll be up to for this event. (As a note, I'm going to be mostly hiatuses for the last 2 weeks of April bc I'm in a show so backtags/handwaving is great)
I'm also waiting on some mod ideas of how technopathy interacts with the VR setting.
I'm also up for having some set up of "hey our avatars know each other and now we have ~feelings~ going on" whether that's negative or positive stuff.
Roles Needed: Peter generally needs friends, since he lost all of his at home (long story, there was a film about it). I'm also always looking for people who can handle his emotional fallout. After seeing the truth about what happened to Starstruck, he's definitely not going to be thrilled with the Big Deal Heroes who were there for it and I'd love to have some IC conversations about this.
My endgame plan is for Peter to join the Guardian Alliance but so far he has no real reason to other than financial stability and that's not a good enough reason for him, so anyone pushing other reasons to join up at him is something I'm interested in. (Doesn't have to be now, just…at some point.)
For this event, just people to do VR stuff with, especially if it's angsty bullshit bc I have a flavour and that is my flavour.
I'm also interested in him getting closer to people who are maybe not heroes for the potential of it going badly LISTEN I'M MEAN.
Also I play Peter as trans, but he hasn't actually told anyone about this here and it would be nice to have people he could talk to about queer shit.

gee & doctor strange (mcu)
Preferred Communication: plurk @
Character Name & Journal: Dr. Stephen Strange (
Guild Affiliation: Unaligned
Plot/CR Hooks: He's a magic man. He's recently been quite public about this (see: playing mission control for a magical rescue and begging people to chill out with magic on the internet) and won't hide or deny it if asked, so anyone with magical questions will easily be able to find out who he is and where to find him.
Speaking of, he lives in Sunset Falls in the big old cursed manor house that was the site of the above mentioned magical rescue, so he's being subtle in exactly 0 aspects of his existence but is also local enough to be easily roped into any Sunset Falls shenanigans you might want him for without an official summons by merit of being Magic and Nearby.
Character Motivations: Long term he wants to understand the cause of their arrival here and how dimensional abilities are being curbed to determine whether or not that poses a threat to his own universe.
Short term he wants:
- everyone to be more responsible!!! with their magic use!!! PLEASE
- ways to make money, preferably without having to get a real job or join a guild (or steal anything thank you LOKI)
Potential Roles:
- magic authority for your magical emergencies
- mentor to younger characters, he's not good at it necessarily but he tries his best once he's invested (which happens quickly god help him)
- Tired Old if there are any other tired over 35s out there who need somebody to be tired with
- or somewhere on the amicable adversary spectrum, he'll gladly be rude to anybody who will be rude back
Plot Ideas: I would like for him to get more actively involved with his fellow Unaligned as both individuals and on a community level! Become aware that he's not as vulnerable to the risks of remaining unprotected by guild membership as some others who don't have almost boundless magic at their disposal, acknowledge the difficulties faced by other unaligned characters without that privilege, and start to work with them and the people who support them to grant them some of the safety the guilds offer.
ie doing things like magical cleanup in the aftermath of well-meaning unaligned vigilante activity or accidental power use to circumvent some of the damages costs they might otherwise have to cover due to the lack of insurance, free spellwork for people who have specific needs relating to their powers, maybe in the long term roping others in to help. Maybe long term helping to set up a meta-led Fix It charity to support both the uninsured unaligned and non-metas whose insurance might not fully cover damages to their properties in the wake of confluences and meta activity... employing unaligned people... WHO KNOWS I just want something world-specific to stick my teeth into and build up with others
I would also like him to get into some trouble for not having a secret ID and still sticking his nose into everything, from silly stuff like:
- the public giving him a superhero name he doesn't like, pls offer your suggestions
- people knowing where he lives so getting visitors at the gates and fan/hate/trollmail deliveries and press calls every time he does something obnoxious and/or magical
- eventually not being able to mind his business in any pro-meta cities because he's the weird crochety wizard who lives in the cursed manor
To more serious stuff like:
- getting the attention of a Big Bad in a way that puts others at risk
- crossing a line that earns him too much attention from one or both guilds and/or legal repercussions
Roles Needed: For the former, unaligned people running into problems as a result of being unaligned and other characters who are interested in reinforcing the help available to unaligned people. For the latter, little shits ready to troll Stephen on the internet and any budding negative CR with characters in either of the guilds.

Riki | Godzilla
Preferred Communication:
Character Name & Journal: Godzilla |
Guild Affiliation: Guardian Alliance
Plot/CR Hooks: Godzilla has gotten into the habit of interacting with random human things, so it's very easy to bump into him while doing mundane tasks like going shopping or taking a walk. He's shrunken down for these things for easier interactions, but sometimes he goes for kaiju-sized strolls through the city or swims in the ocean. He's kinda hard to miss like that and if he gets in the way of what you're doing or breaks something of yours, then...oops? Guess you'll have to talk to the really big lizard about it. Oh no.
Godzilla also indulges in vigilante work and then, randomly stopping muggings or assaults or more organized crimes, if he happens upon them. Whether he's giant sized or more human sized, he'd definitely welcome teaming up with others! Or hanging out with others. Turns out a lizard who can't speak makes for a good listener, especially since he can't share your secrets with anyone.
As interesting as shipping with Godzilla would be, I'm not gonna focus on that unless it comes up naturally or something. I imagine it would be too much of a gray area for most people, so nah.
More likely will be people interested in studying him. And really, what smarty person wouldn't wanna study a kaiju? Especially one who's docile around people. We can figure out the details of that as we go, but hey, it's something I think could be fun.
Character Motivations: Eventually, Godzilla needs to go back home to be with his adopted family. That's non-negotiable. However, he's definitely not opposed to making friends or found family while he's here. G's a very communal lizard and is at his best in the company of others. He wants people he can depend on or be a playful gremlin with, people he can go to when he's down and people who can come to him when they're down. Because really, how can you not feel better when hanging out with and petting a cute reptile?
Oh, and people willing to teach him normal things like reading and writing or that maybe you shouldn't sleep in the park fountain.
Potential Roles: What role does your character play in their canon plot? What role might they play in others' plots, and what would it take to get their attention? Are they an antagonist, a researcher, a tech whiz?
So being the titular character of his own show, Godzilla is the H.E.A.T. team's muscle. Their trump card, the reason they're able to do what they do. He comes in (usually to protect his adoptive father, Nick), fights the big threat head-on, goes out of his way to save innocent people, all that jazz. He's the hero of the story.
However, he's also non-human, three hundred feet tall and unable to talk. The Guardian Alliance gave him a charm to help control that second part, but even so, he's better when given a direction to follow or people to work with. He can take direction well! And understand people! But when matters of intellect or computer science or biology come into effect, he's out of his league. Pair him up with smarter people who know what they're doing (even if they don't know what they're doing) and let him be all the muscle a group needs so everyone else can handle the thinky parts.
Plot Ideas: First of all, GODZILLA WANTS TO WRESTLE. He'll see it and think it's so much fun and want in on it. It'll probably be awful for his opponent, but at least he'll be more human sized than not for it. He'll catch on that it's for fun and be all over it. He wants the enrichment, it'll be great.
Beyond that, I mean. Everyone loves giant monster fights, right? Godzilla's absolutely the go-to hero to take on a giant monster! Especially ones that might need a little help from others, so it's not just an event about him looking cool. It's...probably gonna go that way anyway since. He's the one punching kaijus in the face, but any kind of plot with a powerful enemy that can't be fully taken down with brute force, he can handle the brute force. Heck, let him hold off a threat so others can be the real heroes of the day. Problem is, it's hard to not have Godzilla be a focal point in a plot like that and I worry it'd be too self-indulgent for others to have fun with.
and now I understand why Godzilla movies have so many scenes about the humansAlso being a therapy kaiju. Talk to him about your problems, receive cuddles and stuff. That's more a thing to happen over time with CR, but hey, something to look forward to.
Roles Needed: NERDS. GODZILLA NEEDS NERDS. SMART PEOPLE. People to handle the people side of problems so he can punch the bad guy better. People who can give him direction to better save the day and stuff.
Any characters in need of a friend but without much trust in anyone? Come hang out with a lizard, he's cool. And really, any friends in general. Godzilla likes making new friends.
EDIT: Of course, if anyone wants to study him, they're more than welcome! He is kind of a very unique creature and his science nerd family studies him all the time, so he'll be used to it.

Balthier | Final Fantasy XII
Preferred Communication: DM here or
Character Name & Journal: Balthier
Guild Affiliation: Society
Plot/CR Hooks:
-Sells and buys antiques and magical or alien technological goods
-Great con artist, great pirate, clueless to social rules of superhero/villain stuff
-Does not trust the Alliance or organized “heroics” in general, but tends to be heroic. Yes he’s aware this is hypocritical.
-Really long term I want Balthier to have an arc where he has to confront that he likes power and leadership, and that doesn’t make him his father. His powers will get darker to push his moral line. I think eventually he may switch guilds.
Character Motivations:
Short term
-He REALLY wants it to work here, and things are going so well. He has friends, and an unbelievable relationship, and he likes his job.
-He wants to keep learning his powers and feel a little less useless in that realm
-He’s aware he’s getting restless and trying to fill that with acquisitions for the shop and staying busy with things like the expo
Long term
-Boy wants love and community and he’s REALLY trying to secure that, especially as he’s realizing some of the obstacles are himself. Clown emoji
-Balthier wants a meaningful existence and is butting up against the fact that he’s terrified of leadership and being committed to an organization even as he…wants to be powerful and involved
Potential Roles:
-Pirate w/ a heart of gold. If you need someone to do bad things for good reasons, he’s your guy.
-Snarky banter/Will call you on your shit/Great for philosophical discussions
-Likes mentoring teens ok
-Rival or enemy
Event Plot Ideas:
-He may have a booth for the illicit part of the antiques shop and staff it anonymously using his illusions. Or at least ads/contact info, since the shop would have been established before him but he doesn’t want to be directly linked to the illicit stuff.
-He is definitely going to participate in the AI stuff. He will be taking the role of Nolan Clark, a 16-year-old meta with compulsion powers. Nolan is aware of his powers but largely not used them due to their dubious moral nature. Because of the dire situation, authority figures encourage him to use his powers “for good.” He tries, initially, but feels so ill about it he decides he can’t do that. Even when threatened with death himself and with the opportunity to stop someone else from murder, Nolan will not use his compulsion powers. Nolan probably dies that day.
Roles Needed:
General
-Looking for negative CR (rival, someone he just butts heads with) that can help bring out his more sour traits. He generally is gruffer towards adults in the Alliance than any other demo
-Interested in someone he respects but ultimately clashes with on world view who he could build a rapport with; he respects convictions
-CR from Alliance that may help push him toward "good" organizations can sometimes be good/be trusted
-Always down for more friends, mentors/mentees, and ways to get him integrated into the world
Event
-Any opportunity to test out this villain persona
-If someone wants to be compelled by Nolan, who will immediately feel terrible and try (poorly) to fix it, that would be great
-Down for other threads with Nolan/AI

molly | doreen green (marvel 616)
Preferred Communication:
Character Name & Journal: Doreen "Squirrel Girl" Green |
Guild Affiliation: unaffiliated for now, will end up going with the alliance eventually
Plot/CR Hooks: - Doreen is going to buy all the bootleg action figures at the expo, they are DELIGHTFUL. She will also be a huge fan of the wrestling, and may or may not try to get in on the action herself.
- She'll be disney princessing it up in all the local parks, befriending every squirrel in every town
- I'd love to get her doing some casual superhero stuff! Stopping bank robbers, foiling minor supervillains, those kind of shenanigans.
Character Motivations: Long-term, Doreen wants to go home, but she's happy to make a temporary life here for a while. Right now her motivations boil down to 'make friends, fight crime!' and 'oh god I need to find an apartment and a job soon, don't I?'. She'll probably try to find some part-time college classes too, because she doesn't want to fall behind in her studies back home.
Emotionally, Doreen needs some people to open up to. She has a pretty tight crew back home, and knows a few people here, but she needs more people that she can be both Doreen and Squirrel Girl around. Also, girl probably needs therapy, she has been through some messed-up stuff, although she tends to brush it all off.
Potential Roles:
- Doreen is an optimistic ray of sunshine who genuinely loves being a superhero, with all the craziness that entails! She's kind of a weird goofball, but she's totally confident in herself and is very good at what she does - she's been superhero-ing since she was a teenager and has taken down people who should be way outside of her league. She'd make a great friend and a good listener, especially to anyone who needs a relentlessly positive influence in their lives, and she'd be extra sympathetic to any younger heroes who are having a rough time.
- She's super strong and talks to squirrels! If you need some muscle, or want a small army of rodents to keep an eye out for a lost cat or something, she can help out
- Apart from the squirrels, Doreen's whole thing is that she's really, really good at mediating conflicts and talking people down. If your villain needs someone to talk them out of robbing a bank, or to give them a 'you are who you choose to be, come to the light side, we have cookies' speech, she's your girl!
- She's also a big nerd with a thing for computer science! Not like a super genius hacker or anything, but she has all the powers of a second-year computer science major who gets good grades.
Plot Ideas: I'd love to have some people recognize her out of costume! Doreen is kind of terrible at keeping her secret identity secret (she doesn't wear a mask as Squirrel Girl, and her 'civilian disguise' is just sticking her tail down her pants), and she's an amazingly bad liar - this is bound to backfire on her eventually.
Also, maybe young adult superhero support group? Could that be a thing? They're all pretty messed up!
Roles Needed: Friends of all ages! Frienemies that she can butt heads with! People that she can relentlessly spam with bad puns over text! The last time Doreen had a mentor it backfired pretty spectacularly (spoilers: always double check to make sure your mentor isn't secretly evil), but she could probably use a couple of reasonable adults to tell her when to chill out.

Preferred Communication:
Character Name & Journal: Bruce Wayne
Guild Affiliation: Unaligned
Plot/CR Hooks: Right now, Bruce is solving street level problems as a private investigator in Central City, along with growing the myth of Batman as he tries to do his thing and find answers that he has questions for, whatever those may be. I've also submitted a small plot for other potential street level heroes like a little Defenders thing to the mods, so when I hear back from that, I'll elaborate...
Character Motivations: Bruce is a hero, through and through. He will try to help this world, but right now everything around him is a problem to be solved or a potential threat. The Confluences, the Alliance, etc., he has a reason to be suspicious of, and he's smart enough to find out. But he does stick to himself, and more often than not, that does get him into trouble. He can be hurt, because he's human, but more importantly, he can draw the wrong kind of attention just being Him. Without his cave, his resources, this will put him at a large disadvantage until he's able to make some money and establish himself more.
Potential Roles: I can do whatever you want with Batman. He can be a leader, a mentor, an adversary... he's Big Three, so he's done next to everything you can think of in comics except for get lasting help. I've been more than happy keeping him street level while magic gang magics, but if anyone ever needed/wanted him in bigger things, he can easily transition.
Plot Ideas: I'm bad with plot ideas, and I do better bouncing ideas, so if you have anything, regardless of how ridiculous, let me know. For those who know me, I'm a little slow on tags whether it be for motivation/energy, so I appreciate you bearing with me if you do decide ultimately you wanna play something with me <3
Roles Needed: As mentioned above, Bruce keeps to himself and gets himself hurt. Since losing Alfred, moving out of the manor in the comics and losing a large portion of his money (though still a multi-millionaire...) and his gadgets, he's gotten more capable of taking care of himself, but he's the Dark Knight, not the Dark Knights, okay. If you do want him involved, or to build a relationship, he needs some coercing, and some of that in the start may be or seem negative. If you're having a hard time with it, lmk, cause I'm always flexible enough to edit or reapproach a tag.
